The Story of Scrapstang
Scrapstang came from Florida at the same time as Smog. The two Calypso Mustangs traveled north together, but they arrived with very different jobs ahead of them.
Scrapstang was a roller when it was obtained. It needs a windshield, a trunk, an engine, and a transmission. The front end had already been rebuilt, and the frame had been fixed and straightened.
At first, parts of Scrapstang were going to be used to help fix other projects. But the plan has changed. Instead of simply taking from it, the goal now is to turn Scrapstang into something of its own.
The likely direction is a more aggressive build — possibly a caged race-car style Foxbody. That plan is not locked in yet, but the car has moved from “parts source” to “future project.”
Scrapstang may also inherit pieces from Smog. If Smog gets a Coyote swap, its 302 engine and manual transmission could end up in Scrapstang. If Smog gets the black interior, its gray interior may also move into Scrapstang.
Nothing about Scrapstang is fully decided yet. That is the point. It is the flexible, rougher build in the garage — the one that can become whatever the project needs it to be.
